what we believe
We believe the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be verbally inspired of God, inerrant in the original writings, and our Supreme and Final Authority in faith and life
We believe the Gospel to be the Good News about Jesus Christ, that:
- He is the Eternal Son of God
- He became flesh
- He was born of the Virgin Mary
- He died for our sins upon the cross according to the Scriptures
- He died on the cross as our representative and substitutionary sacrifice
- All who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood, and not of their own works
We believe there is but one true and living God. He is eternal, of infinite power, wisdom, and goodness and the Creator of all things, visible and invisible. In the unity of the Godhead, there are three equal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death - not annihilation, but eternal separation from God. We believe that all men are born with a sinful nature, totally depraved, and, if they are not born again, are eternally lost
We believe we are saved by grace through faith, and faith alone, in the shed blood of Jesus Christ on Calvary's Cross, and the believer who exercises saving faith in Christ possesses eternal life and is eternally secure
We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, in His present life there for us as a High Priest and Advocate, and that He is the propitiation for our sins
We believe in that "blessed hope", the personal, premillennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his Church, followed by His return to this earth in power and glory, with His Saints, to set up His Kingdom
We believe that Christ's Church is composed of all who have accepted Him as their Savior in this dispensation; that these believers are members of His Body, the Church, and that He is the Head
We believe that the ordinances of the Church are:
- Baptism - Baptism (the complete immersion of the believer in water) unto the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
- The Lord's Supper - The scriptural order is baptism first and the Lord's Supper second. We believe in joint communion at every Lord's Supper, the joint being defined as those believers who are joined together by belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and abiding by His instructions concerning communion in 1 Corinthians 11:23-32
We believe every true Christian should faithfully give of his income to God for the spreading of the Gospel, both at home and abroad and that their supreme motive should be the winning of souls to Jesus Christ. God owns all and we are his stewards. Christian giving is not to be as unto men, but as an act of worship
